Plaka Beach Drepano - Argolida - Greece

Villa the Rose is located just a few metres from Plaka Beach in Drepano which is a small village in the Argolida county of Southern Greece. Just two hours from Athens and two hours from Kalamata the area is popular with both Greek tourists and visitors from abroad and roads from both are excellent. The town of Nafplion, the first capital of liberated Greece is just 15 minutes away by car or local bus. The village of Drepano

The village of Drepano is a short walk from Villa the Rose and is a small town that caters for everyday needs. It has a variety of supermarkets, bakers, butchers, pharmacy, book shop, post office plus cafeterias and tavernas. There really is no need to go further afiels if on holiday. The local bus service runs to and from Nafplion and from here it is possible to connect to the whole of the Peloponnese and Athens.

Drepano is a fine choice even off season to use as a base to visit all the wonders of the Peloponnese peninsula, such UNESCO sites as the Epidavros Theatre, Mycenae, Ancient Tiryns and many more archaeological sites are found within half an hour of Villa the Rose. For those wanting to explore the region we suggest renting a car.

Plaka Beach

Plaka Beach is a long, straight stretch of beach along the coast inbetween the resort of Tolo and the small fishing village of Vivari. The beach have wonderful, clear, clean water and the beach itself is made up of both sand and pebbles hwere sunbeds and umbrellas are available for the price of a drink. Dotted along the beach are tavernas and large outdoor cafes that become bars in the evening. The atmosphere of Plaka is relaxed and laid back and it is one of the nicest beaches for a lazy summer holiday and perfect for kids.
